KITT

General Motors stunned visitors of the Detroit Motor Show this week with the release of the new 1982/07 Pontiac Trans-Am called K.I.T.T.

Horrace Bochlor of GM stated, “KITT is the world’s most sophisticated sports car ever made and has taken more than 24 years to develop.”

Originally designed in the early 1980’s as part of a top secret ‘law and government’ experiment the car was the brainchild of billionaire entrepreneur Wilton Knight. Knight with the help of Mr Devon developed KITT with partner crime fighter/special agent Michael Hoff, ex Californian lifeguard and amateur singer entertainer popular in Sweden.

Knight, Devon, Hoff and KITT were responsible for fighting many crimes in America in the 1980’s that were so top secret they were never reported or leaked to the media at the time.

Bochlor admits that the car is a little late for the market, and the styling may be a bit dated, however GM are confident that KITT will be an American automotive success story, and a world first.

“In retrospect, sure Trans-Ams in the 1980’s were something of a design disaster, but what wasn’t back then. We sold a bunch of ‘em to Greek nightclub owners in the 1980’s like you wouldn’t believe.” Bochlor also went on to say, “The critics think we got it all wrong, but we believe the untapped potential of KITT, particularly in the Middle East, South Africa, and urban war zones around the world would certainly benefit from this kind of vehicle.” In the years of development KITT has been shot at with rocket launchers, dug its way out of holes, escaped acid baths, demotion derby’s, and machine gun fire. KITT is fireproof, bullet proof, impossible to break into, and eco friendly.

KITT interior features talking computer, car phone, automatic leg warmers and musical horn.

KITT can be ordered directly from the factory with it’s own state of the art 640mb talking computer, installed laser gun, rocket launcher, computerised mobile road trailer and wrist watch that the owner can talk into to command the car to drive by itself. The car is fully automated and will pick the kids up from school, meet you at the mall, or pick you up from the nightclub at 2am, and tell you some very funny 80’s jokes on the way home. It even comes with a nice black leather jacket and matching retro styled sun glasses.

Bochlor says there has been a lot of interest in the car, and even with it’s US $24m price tag, Victoria Beckham, 50 Cent, and Jay Leno have all been rumoured to have a their own KITT on order. Although Detroit was shut down in the 80’s and converted into ghetto squats for unemployed black workers and house DJ’s, the new KITT Trans-Am’s will be assembled in Mexico. It may be several years before they arrive on the US showroom floors.

GM have already begun development of the next future super car targeting the family market. Not giving too much away, the KITT-SUV is currently under development. And like the KITT-Trans-Am it will be available only in black. KITT-SUV will be available to the public sometime in fall 2030.
